INNERMOST SELF

Michael Spenzi and his wife Donna, and 2 kids, 4 year-old daughter Katie and 1 year-old-son Jay, reach the end of their rope financially.  At the beginning of Summer 2007 the Spenzi family was forced to liquidate all personal belongings collected over 11 years together. After nearly everything is sold the family packs the car with clothes.

The inevitable liquidation came as the conclusion to Michael’s 18 years of hard work as a real estate salesperson, when the real estate market took a dive. As it was necessary for the Spenzi family to move into Michael’s parent’s house, his drinking became so excessive that Donna threatened to take the kids to her family’s house and leave him for good unless he got help and got a decent income soon. He stumbles into bad luck every step of the way to seeking employment.

Job options are narrowing terribly. Alcohol has taken control of his nights and mornings. Michael makes the decision to seek help from Alcoholics Anonymous. He finally realizes that left to his own devices he is powerless over life and his alcohol has become unmanageable… his best thinking had gotten them all here… it was now time to find and maintain a conscious contact with God… one day at a time.

This situation takes him to a point of living along spiritual lines, and this act opens the gates of serenity to him and his family. He learns the ‘Surrenders’ from his sponsor Rob. The ‘Surrenders’ help Michael toward acceptance and give him knowledge of how to approach each and everything in his life with better outcome and maintain clearer focus. He gets a job and soon after the family’s packing their car again with their clothes, only this time they are headed to their new home and life is better than they ever knew it to be.
